Anthony founded AZJ Legal in 2017 (originally established as Anthony Jimenez & Company before a rebrand in 2023) with the aim of providing businesses and corporations with a modern alternative to traditional legal service. From the outset of his career, Anthony has worked closely with a diverse range of clients and businesses, developing a clear understanding of their legal needs. His focus has always been to provide clients with specialist, tailored advice, delivered through a highly personalised and responsive service, built on close relationships and an understanding of each client’s personal and business objectives.
With two decades of experience in high-performing legal roles, Anthony specialises in providing corporate advice to clients operating across the United Kingdom, Gibraltar, and other international jurisdictions. He has particular expertise in advising independent investment managers, family offices and funds, providing guidance on their establishment, governance and ongoing operations, as well as structuring and transactional matters. More recently, Anthony has expanded his practice to include advising technology companies in the AI sector, collaborating with some of the UK’s leading data scientists and tech entrepreneurs.
Anthony has substantial industry experience and in-depth knowledge of the legal, regulatory and commercial challenges facing investment firms. Before establishing AZJ Legal, Anthony was the Head of Legal and a member of the senior management team for a London-based wealth advisory and asset management group (AUM $11bn) and the Managing Director of its regulated Gibraltar unit. Before that, he was a senior associate at Gibraltar’s largest law firm for seven years
Anthony was the winner of the inaugural Gibraltar tax essay prize, 2022 with his essay titled: “Is Gibraltar’s tax regime robust enough to support the growth and development of its funds industry?” Judges comments included: “Interesting and enjoyable analysis which has potential to improve the robustness of the funds tax regime” and “a strong piece of work showing depth of thought”.
Anthony was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2007 and to the Bar of Gibraltar in 2009. He trained at the Inns of Court School of Law in London (now the City Law School) and holds a BSc in Chemistry and Law from the University of Exeter.
