Ian is a qualified solicitor in England, Wales and Hong Kong, and specialises in finance transactions, banking and regulatory law.

Ian trained and practiced at Clifford Chance in London and later relocated to Hong Kong where he was promoted to (equity) partner. He was subsequently (n equity) partner in White & Case, before moving to a position as the senior regional counsel in Asia for Wachovia Bank, Hong Kong, which became Wells Fargo Bank, Hong Kong. More recently, Ian was counsel at King & Wood Mallesons, Hong Kong in the Banking and Finance department. Ian is not authorised to provide legal services in Gibraltar
